International Soloists Competition

Inspired by the Spirit of Mozart, Haydn & Beethoven

Piano - Violin - Cello - Voice - Wind Instruments - Piano 4 Hands - Chamber Music

The Wiener Klassik International Soloists Competition invites talented musicians from around the world to showcase their artistry in the heart of classical music in Vienna.

This prestigious competition celebrates the legacy of the Viennese Classical Era, welcoming young soloists and chamber ensembles performing works by Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, and their contemporaries. 
The 1st prize winner in each category and the Grand Prize winner will have the honor of performing live at Mozarthaus Vienna - Bösendorfer Hall on March 22, 2026.  Submission deadline: January 18,  2026 - Results announcement: February 1, 2026.

  • Grand Prize 4000 EUR 

  • 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes in each category and age group. ​

  • The first-place winner in each category will receive a live performance opportunity at Mozarthaus Vienna, along with professional audio and video recordings of the performance.

  • "Wiener Klassik" Prize Invitation to the award ceremony at Mozarthaus Vienna + certificate + professional photo shoot at the award ceremony.

  • "Special Jury" Prize Invitation to the award ceremony at Mozarthaus Vienna + certificate + professional photo shoot at the award ceremony.

  • Honourable Mentions Invitation to the award ceremony at Mozarthaus Vienna + certificate + professional photo shoot at the award ceremony.

  • An outstanding participant, selected from across all categories and awarded full marks by unanimous decision of the jury, may be honored with the Grand Prix Prize of €4,000.

  • Open to pianists of all nationalities.

  • Performances are judged by a panel of esteemed musicians and educators, ensuring high standards and fair evaluations.

The Vienna Cultural Association Culture Meeting Point Vienna (CMP Vienna), in collaboration with Mozarthaus Vienna, is proud to present the WIENER KLASSIK International Soloists Competition.

This prestigious competition is dedicated to celebrating and promoting talented soloists from around the world. Beyond the awards, the primary mission of the WIENER KLASSIK International Soloists Competition is its educational value. It serves as a platform for aspiring musicians—whether in training or at the beginning of their professional journey—to evaluate their skills and present their artistry to an international audience.

Organized by CMP Vienna, a cultural institution active since 1995, this competition takes place in Vienna, a city of unmatched musical heritage, vibrant cultural life, and a future as the world’s music capital. We warmly welcome participants from every continent to take part in this outstanding event in the very heart of Europe. The WIENER KLASSIK International Soloists Competition is committed to accessibility and inclusivity. Our live performance format allows participants to connect with a broader public, while video recordings of the finalists’ performances are featured on our website. Award winners are announced across our social media platforms, ensuring high visibility and international reach.

Our jury panels consist of distinguished professors from the International Music Academy as well as acclaimed guest artists, guaranteeing a fair and artistically valuable evaluation for each competitor.

Competition Rules and Regulations

Eligibility
The competition is open to musicians of all ages and nationalities.

Age Consideration
The age of the applicant on January 18, 2026, will determine the age group.

Repertoire

Participants are kindly requested to prepare their programs in accordance with the following guidelines:

  • At least one work from the Wiener Klassik era (e.g., Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven) must be included in the program.

  • If a participant is unable to include a work from the Wiener Klassik era, they may alternatively present a freely chosen piece of their choice.

  • The program may be enriched with additional works from romantic, modern, or other contrasting styles.

Time Limits:

  • Soloists: Maximum 15 minutes

  • Ensembles: Maximum 20 minutes

Additional Information:

  • There is no time limit for the performance video submitted via link.

  • Short recordings may be combined into a single video link.

  • There is no minimum time requirement.
     

Publication of Results

The official results will be posted on February 1, 2026, on our website and our social media Addressee.

* All winners' names will be published on our website and social media channels (Instagram, Facebook) on the dates mentioned in the announcement.*

Video Recording Requirements

The recording should be taken by one camera, showing the face and hands of the musician.

Video links should be provided at the time of registration, but can also be submitted via email up until the registration deadline.

Permissions

By registering, participants allow the organizer to freely use the submitted photos, audio, and video recordings for documentation and public relations on its website and social media.

 

Certificates

*All award-winning participants will receive a certificate of achievement via email.
*Printed certificates can be sent by post upon request (additional ordering and shipping costs)

*Participants who have not received an award can receive a certificate of participation by email upon request (It can be sent electronically for 30 euros).

*Teacher persons can also receive certificates upon request (It can be sent electronically for 30 euros).

Publication Rights

By participating in the competition, participants agree to the possible publication and popularization of the submitted recordings and photos for advertising purposes. The organizers reserve the right to edit and crop photos of participants for publication on the Internet.

Prize (for each category)
Grand Prize of 4000 EUR + concert at Mozarthaus Vienna + certificate + professional photo shoot, audio & video recording at the concert & award ceremony.
1st prize (for each category) live concert at Mozarthaus Vienna + certificate + professional photo shoot, audio and video recording at the concert and award ceremony.
2nd prize Invitation to the award ceremony at Mozarthaus Vienna + certificate + professional photo shoot at the award ceremony.
3rd prize Invitation to the award ceremony at Mozarthaus Vienna + certificate + professional photo shoot at the award ceremony.

Special prizes:
* "Wiener Klassik" Prize Invitation to the award ceremony at Mozarthaus Vienna + certificate + professional photo shoot at the award ceremony.

Category and registration fee
The registration fee is  55 € for solo

* Category A:  18 years old and above 

* Category B:  14 - 17 years old
* Category C:  10 - 13 years old
* Category D:  up to 9 years old

* Category Piano Duo/4Hands  (The registration fee is 45€ per musician, with no age limit)

* Category Chamber Music: (for duo, trio, quartet, or quintet and may include any classical instrument or voice, no age limit. Per musician participation fee 40€)
