International Classic Strings Music Competition for Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass, Harp, Guitar
Grand Prize (€4,500)
Three main prizes (1st, 2nd, and 3rd place)
Special prizes (Wiener Klassik Prize, Special Jury Prizes) and Honorable Mentions Prizes will be awarded.
The winner of the 1st prize in each category (A, B, C, D, and Chamber Music) will have the opportunity to perform live before the public at MOZARTHAUS VIENNA - Concert Hall on November 23, 2025. This includes a professional photo shoot, as well as audio and video recordings during the concert and award ceremony.

The Vienna Cultural Association, Culture Meeting Point Vienna (since 1995), in collaboration with Mozarthaus Vienna, is delighted to present the "Vienna International Classic Strings Competition & Festival". This event welcomes participants from around the world to the heart of Europe – Vienna, a city with rich traditions, an exciting present, and a promising future as the world capital of music!
The primary objective of the competition, beyond the awarding of prizes, is to provide educational value. The competition is crafted to enable candidates from all corners of the globe to take part, and live performances offer participants exposure to a diverse audience. Videos featuring all finalists are documented on our website, and the announcement of award winners takes place on our social media platforms. The judging panels comprise instructors from the International Music Academy and distinguished guests.
Rules and Regulations:
*Open to musicians of all ages and nationalities.
* Repertoire is free choice (video links required).
* No time limit for videos; multiple short recordings may be combined into one link. There is no minimum duration.
* Age is calculated as of September 21, 2025, will be taken into account when dividing into age groups.
* All the names of the winners will be published on our website on the dates mentioned in the announcement and on social media channels
* The official results will be on October 5, 2025, on our website and our social media accounts.
* In each category, the jury awards 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes, Wiener Klassik Prize, special jury prizes, and special mentions according to the participant's score.
* When making the payment, it is imperative to indicate the full NAME of the participant and the INSTRUMENT category they are applying for.
* Videos must clearly show the performer’s face and hands, recorded with a single camera.
* By registering, participants allow the organizer to freely dispose of the photo, audio, and video recordings submitted to the competition for documentation and public relations on its website and social media.
* The judgment of the jury is final.
* Due to delays in the evaluation process by the competition jury committee, the organization reserves the right to change the dates provided for the announcement of the results.
* All award-winning participants will receive a certificate of achievement via email. On request, we can also send you printed certificates by post.
* All winners will be presented on the official website of the online competition, as well as on the social media of the competition organization. (Instagram, Facebook).
* Participants without an award, as well as teachers and accompanying persons, may receive a certificate of participation upon request, available electronically for €30.
* By participating in the competition, the participants agree to the possible publication and popularization of the submitted recordings and photos for advertising purposes. The organizers of the competition reserve the right to edit and crop photos of participants for publication (advertising) on the Internet.
* Once the application fee is paid it cannot be refunded under any circumstances and candidates agree to the terms and conditions of the competition.
Prize
1st prize (for each category) live concert at Mozarthaus Vienna on November 23, 2025 + certificate + professional photo shoot, audio and video recording at the concert and award ceremony.
2nd prize (for each category) invitation to the award ceremony at Mozarthaus Vienna + certificate + professional photo shoot at the award ceremony.
3rd prize (for each category) invitation to the award ceremony at Mozarthaus Vienna + certificate + professional photo shoot at the award ceremony.
Grand Prize (€4,000) – Awarded by unanimous jury decision to an outstanding participant from any category, including a certificate, professional photo shoot, audio & video recordings, and a concert performance at Mozarthaus Vienna.
Special prizes:
* Wiener Klassik Prize Invitation to the award ceremony at Mozarthaus Vienna + certificate + professional photo shoot at the award ceremony.
* Special Jury Prize Invitation to the award ceremony at Mozarthaus Vienna + certificate + professional photo shoot at the award ceremony.
* Honourable Mentions Invitation to the award ceremony at Mozarthaus Vienna + certificate + professional photo shoot at the award ceremony.
Categories & Fees:
* Age category A: 18+ years
* Age category B: 14 - 17 years old
* Age category C: 10 - 13 years old
* Age category D: up to 9 years old
* Chamber Music category: Any ensemble, no age limit (fee per musician: €30)
Participation Fee:
*The participation fee is 55 €.
*The participation fee for the Chamber Music per musician is 30 €.
